Dec 5, 2024 · Working for CDCR can be hit or miss but I really enjoyed my position under my supervisor. Not overwhelming work, understanding supervisor, and not super stressful. The only issue is the other coworkers were not as supportive and very aggressive/combative/rude with everyone, not just other employees. Not a supportive environment of coworkers.

Oct 31, 2024 · Working for the state has it's up's and down's but if you plan on working here for at least 10 years, you won't regret it. CDCR has the best pension you could hope for. Pay is a big difference from the hospital setting BUT work life balance is way more manageable at CDCR. I love it here and can't see myself anywhere else.

Sep 6, 2024 · Management is very unethical, stress job, critical thinker to work in this area of CDCR. The hardest part is trying to do your job and supervisory. He does not have any knowledge of Medical or procedures. needless to say, very poorly trained.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
