Jul 13, 2020 · A good landing is on centerline, on the markers, and on speed (typical flare angle around 3-4° but varies by plane). Target landing rate should be -150 to -200 fpm. Getting super smooth "butter" landings can actually be detrimental after a certain point.

Mar 24, 2018 · Then landing on RWY 28 upslope I have -28fpm (1.41G) and BUTTER note. Other (extreme) example is Courchevel where you can fly with 0 fpm (or even with positive fpm) and eventually you will hit the runway.
