Bussum, gemeente (municipality), west-central Netherlands, near the IJsselmeer (Lake IJssel). Originally a rustic extension of the old fortress town of Naarden, it is now a residential suburb, southeast of Amsterdam, and a resort for the Gooiland region of lakes and woods.

Bussum is a small town south east of Amsterdam. Approximately 30,000 people live in Bussum. Bussum is easily reached by train: Naarden-Bussum station is 21 minutes from Amsterdam Central, and 23 minutes from Utrecht via Hilversum. The centre of town is about 5–10 minutes walk from the station.
