Built 2JZ-GTE. Oil thickness discussion! - Supra Forums
May 2, 2022 · I have a built 2jz-gte. Enginebuilder did NOT change the clearances. The previous owner used to drift a lot (NOT THIS CAR) with the guy that made the engine. Now here comes my question: Previous owner used Castrol Edge 10W-60 engine oil, after getting it recommended by the friend (enginebuilder - because they use it in the drift cars)...

Engine oil for built 3.0 2JZGTE - Supra Forums
May 6, 2014 · But an engine built to tighter tolerances is going to do well with a thinner oil, and a lot of built 2JZ's are run on Mobil 1 5w30 and the like. One really needs to get the build specs from the engine builder themselves as far as the clearances involved, etc, to make the best call.
What EXACTLY do I need for 'Built' 2jz-ge? - Supra Forums
May 25, 2016 · A block line hone is only necessary if you're going to billet mains and/or main studs. Damage to the block/main bearing surfaces can also make it a necessity but this is rare on a 2JZ. I haven't ever seen a 2JZ that needed it 'just because' on its original mains with an undamaged crank.

Actual evidence on Yamaha co-developing the 2JZ-Engine?
Feb 5, 2019 · However the 2JZ being derived from the 1JZ built by Yamaha means that it is arguable a Yamaha designed engine. Furthermore most Japanese websites also state Toyota engines with a -GE code are Toyota's performance heads which have all been designed by Yamaha, again this could be incorrect as it just peoples assumptions and opinions as Toyota ...
Have you built a 2JZ short or long block? If yes jump in.
Apr 4, 2017 · All in all, the 2JZ is a boosted engine. You can almost always make more power just by turning up the boost and not changing anything else. Heck, a stock 2JZ can make 1000 with a big enough turbo and fuel system but it won't live long. Hope that helps! If I didn't cover something else you need just let me know. I'll do my best to help.
2JZ race engines and oil weight - Supra Forums
Dec 5, 2015 · This thread is about the 2JZ when built for over 1000whp for the track and the weight of oil preferred to handle the duty. This isn't suppose to get into brand of oil, just specifics regarding weight of oil. I have spent some time reading …
2JZGE-T VVTI 500hp build/parts list, could use some guidance.
Aug 1, 2013 · Hello everyone, forgive me since this topic has been beaten to death and I have spent months researching and reading 2jzge-T conversions but most of those builds were with non vvti motors, motors with distributors, or high HP builds. I am only looking for 450-500hp in my 91 MK3 supra and the 2jz...
2JZ VS VR38 Debacle | Supra Forums
Oct 4, 2024 · As having owned and built up both the MKIV Supra & R35 GTR platforms I can confidently say that the MKIV Supra & 2JZ is a more balanced platform & motor. The VR38 & R35 are mechanical marvels though. They are definitely different motors and different cars but by the debate in this video I would love to see a dyno match off between the two like ...
