Rajkot, one of the fastest growing cities in India with a population of 1.2 million, has become the second city in Gujarat to launch a Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). Modeled on the success of Ahmedabad’s Janmarg BRTS, it began free trial runs on a 10.5km operational pilot blue corridor during October 2012.

AHMEDABAD – A total corridor length of 88 km was planned, out of which 45 km is operational. The total no. of bus terminus is 67 and 112 buses are operating serving with daily ridership of 125,000.

Jun 24, 2009 · RAJKOT: Chief Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Rs 600-crore Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) project here on Friday. The 63 km. long project, to be commissioned by 2010 end, will be completed in the next four years and expectedly change the internal transport scenario of Rajkot.
