USA-17 [a] (formerly known as BMW Oracle Racing 90 or BOR90) is a sloop rigged racing trimaran built by the American sailing team BMW Oracle Racing to challenge for the 2010 America's Cup.

Nov 9, 2009 · Steve Clark:' The rig on BOR90 is a two element single slotted wing. This is a 'cleaner' configuration instead of a 'more powerful' configuration. You will not get the high lift coefficients without the #2 element ( the flap in the slot that directs the flow through the slot.)

The stern rudders of BOR90 are not a part of the length measurement, so the max LWL does not exceed 90 feet. Auxiliary engines and movable ballast do not contradict the DoG. • Regarding the construction of the boats The design and some key components of BOR90 come from France.

This is a semi-scaled trimaran inspired by the BOR90/USA 17 Trimaran sailed to victory in the 2010 America's Cup. With a total length of 500mm, a width of nearly 450mm, and a total displacement volume of 559527 Cubic mm, this model is broken down into parts that will fit in a 20cmx20cm build plate printer.

BMW Oracle Racing took their America's Cup Challenger, BOR90 out for her first sail after around five weeks of modifications were undertaken in the builder's shed in San Diego. The major changes which are confirmed in these photos include a new mast (with a hard wing believed to be on its way); the centreboard has been removed, as has the main rudder;
