Blue chocobo (青チョコボ, Ao Chokobo?) is a recurring type of chocobo. Appearing less commonly than other chocobo types, blue chocobos are able to cross rivers and streams. Blue chocobos are also known as River Chocobos for this trait.

The Blue Chocobo is versatile and reliable and a recommendable Ice- and Wind-related Ravager. It masters Blizzard and Aero all the way up to Tier 3, as well as learning physical Wind-abilities like Galestrike and Aero Blitz.

Blue chocobo are a weaker chocobo type than black chocobos. They are able to cross rivers and streams, but typically cannot fly. When they participate in battle they are generally magic casters.

When you get a Green or Blue Chocobo, you can breed that colored bird with another Good or Great Chocobo (even its parents! Yuck!) and hopefully get a Chocobo of the other color… or you can try breeding its parents, or another set of Good or Great Chocobos, it’s all rather luck whether you get a Blue or Green Chocobo, so keep at it!
