Its by far the best adblocker available on the market (and does much more then just block ads!) Haven't used other adblockers in a while so dunno have well they've improved since then but from my memory I remember getting more notices to disable my adblocker using alternatives then I've ever gotten using uBlock Origin.

Temporary replace ABP with pair uBlock Origin + anti-adblock diffuser uBlock Origin Extra and you will see the reason other are recommending uBO + uBO-Extra :) (check speed and RAM/CPU usage, make sure to have ABP, or uBO + uBO-Extra, during the test)

24 votes, 45 comments. true. total adblock is a literal SCAM dont trust them. they are NOT free and they refuse to let you cancel your subscription. you literally have to use legal threats to get them to stop. it is A LOT WORSE than ANY other adblocker. it is FORTY BUCKS A MONTH which is THREE TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE than yt premium.

The Opera's adblock extension dont do much, even if you add some blocklists they dont work as it should. We needed to install uBlock on Opera for it to work. If you wanna get rid of youtube adblock banner, only with Firefox + uBlock Origin with some specific filter lists activated. (annoyances, unbreak, antiantiadblock etc.)

For the creation of the pure domain lists, I also use the adblock version of the respective source to include the parent domains (FLDs) of the subdomains (SLDs) on the domain list, which ultimately improves the compression of the generated adblock lists. Jan 21, 2024 · I have used all the extensions and scripts people mention below for years. As of the last few days, it appears twitch updated their anti adblock so though these do block ads, the stream stays black forever. So far the only thing I've found to work right now is the very unpleasant last resort of an alternative player.
