Oct 24, 2007 · i use a 31 band eq in my fx loop. helps out alot because my amp's eq is passive, cut only. an yes, 31 bands is VERY flexible except im getting some clipping when i push the gain too much. ill be fixing this with a 2 channel compressor/composer. running into the composer first, using the peak limiter to get rid of the clipping, then into the 31 eq and then back into the second channel of the ...
Three Band EQ vs Four Band EQ (and what about pedals?)
May 12, 2019 · I have an MXR KFK 10-band EQ and it's a decent enough tool for the price. You may also consider some of the semi-parametric pedal EQs like the Empress ParaEQ and the Tech21 Q Strip. Or you might consider an amp like the Mesa WD-800, which has a variable HPF; Bass, Middle, and Treble; plus three bands of semi-parametric mids.
Making the most of a 31 band EQ - TalkBass.com
Apr 2, 2012 · The typical use of a 31 band graphic EQ is for room correction/speaker correction in either a P.A. or monitor. I'm guessing that you are inserting it in your EFX loop? You've not stated why you wanted that EQ. I am of the belief that less filters is better. A 31 band EQ has 31 filters. A parametric EQ has 3 or 4 usually.

May 31, 2011 · All of these amps have 4-band EQ, along with deep and brite switches that could make a 31-band EQ redundant for normal bass purposes. I find that they also sound better. With the DI set to Post and no cab, they can all function as awesome bass preamps on "ampless" gigs, and they make that second rack case with a power amp, M9 Carbine or RB1001 ...
Bass with 2-band vs 3-band EQ - TalkBass.com
Aug 13, 2015 · Mids are THE key to bass tone. To have an active eq that is only 2 band gives you no way to dial in the mids. I have never played a 2 band eq bass that I did not dislike. I prefer a 4 band or a 3 band with sweepable mids, and I run an EQ pedal has 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 adjustments. So then I can really dial in the mids.

Nov 27, 2022 · How should I dail in an active bass with a 3 band EQ running through an amp with a parametric EQ. Someone said to set the amp eq all at 12 o'clock and fine tune with the basses three band EQ. I tried that and it was ok sounding but I am looking for a …

Jul 4, 2011 · While it may not yield a no-cut, no-boost condition, all the 3-band preamps I've been around have the center detent on the EQ knobs. It may not be "flat", but it seems like a good starting place. And I leave them on the center detent all the time on my SR5s except to sometimes lower the treble for a less-agressive tone when called for.
Stingray 2-band vs. 3-band EQ - TalkBass.com
Nov 29, 2008 · Re cut/boost, and mids: The 2 band eq is cut/boost (see Ed Freidland's review of the new Classic SR with the 2 band). With the 2 band, if you cut bass, the mids jump out significantly, and it sounds like a jazz with the neck pup rolled off. The 3 eq is a perfect example of over engineering, as it totally changes the character of the instrument ...

Nov 9, 2016 · Fretted 4 string, East 2-band EQ with Nordy alnico (and now SD Ceramic) pickups. Treble centered or slightly above (maybe 1:00 position). Bass between 11:00 and 1:00. Volume on full. I prefer a bit of a thinner sound. Sort of like a fat J …
Dumb question. Is this the right EQ pedal for a bass.
Jun 21, 2017 · The MXR M108 10 band graphic EQ is a most excellent graphic equalizer pedal for bass as well as most other instruments. Owned one myself at some point. Sold it as I really only used it in one song to get a more mellow deep tone than my basic punchy slightly aggressive mid heavy tone and the band disbanded.
