When I set up the system, I got duplicate sound in several speakers and the receiver shorted out (went into speaker protect mode and shut down).

It is possible to get Banana SOCKETS, you could make an adapter with two wires going into a plug, and then each of those wires terminating in a Socket. Most are intended to be Chassis mount, but you could just shrink some Heat Shrink Tubing around them.

For the spring-loaded clips on the ceiling speakers, you don’t need banana plugs, just use either bare or tinned wire. The banana plugs at the wall will make disconnecting and cleaning easier.

Mar 5, 2007 · All the banana plugs I use have plastic shielding up to the point where the metal part of the banana plug starts. If you insert the banang plug fully into the binding post, there will be no metal for the theoretical paper clip (or excess speaker wires) to touch. If this concerns you, get "double" banana plugs.
