When I set up the system, I got duplicate sound in several speakers and the receiver shorted out (went into speaker protect mode and shut down).

Nov 1, 2007 · That is how I've done it. You MUST use the side hole if you want to piggy-back another banana plug into the back or rear (I think that bottom is what you are calling it) of the first banana plug. Use both wires of a 2-stranded speaker wire for each pair of piggy-backed bananas.

May 29, 2016 · So no, I've never seen a banana plug splitter adapter. It is possible to get Banana SOCKETS, you could make an adapter with two wires going into a plug, and then each of those wires terminating in a Socket. Most are intended to be Chassis mount, but you could just shrink some Heat Shrink Tubing around them.

Nov 11, 2024 · If you're concerned about corrosion, tinned wire is ideal, but soldering isn't necessary unless you're going for a more permanent, sealed connection. For the spring-loaded clips on the ceiling speakers, you don’t need banana plugs, just use either bare or tinned wire. The banana plugs at the wall will make disconnecting and cleaning easier.

Nov 25, 2018 · 1. The Amp can, and has, powered 4 8 ohm speakers in parallel, but with 2 bare copper wires into spring loaded clips. I'd like to simply combine the 2 red and 2 black wires into a a single red and black banana plug for ease of use.

Mar 5, 2007 · All the banana plugs I use have plastic shielding up to the point where the metal part of the banana plug starts. If you insert the banang plug fully into the binding post, there will be no metal for the theoretical paper clip (or excess speaker wires) to touch. If this concerns you, get "double" banana plugs.
