Nestled in the heart of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, the Doi Pui Hmong Village offers an enchanting glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of the Hmong Hilltribe. Just 4 kilometers from the renowned Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, this village stands as a testament to the enduring traditions and lifestyle of the Hmong people.

About half way up there is a museum of tribal artifacts to view for 10 baht. The museum is actually a small enclosure the size of a one car garage. Exit through the back and you’re outside in front of a beautiful, massive, hillside garden of flowers and herbs.

If you are visiting Chiang Mai in mid to late January, you may see some Wild Himalayan Cherry (Thai Sakura) blossoms at Doi Pui. If this is of particular interest to you, you might prefer to visit Ban Khun Chang Khian which is a more remote village with many more cherry trees.

Ban Hmong Mae Sa Mai is the go-to village for anyone who wants to experience what the locals live like in a traditional northern Thai village. Located just 36 minutes north-west from Chiang Mai, Ban Hmong Mae Sa Mai is a step back in time where you will see people dressed in traditional Hmong clothing selling a range of goods.

Baan Doi Pui. Baan Doi Pui is the most well-known Hmong village on Doi Suthep. This community attracts many tourists on day trips from Chiang Mai. There are a small waterfall and an extensive souvenir market. There are several restaurants, as well.

Getting Here: Ban Doi Pui is located 18km northeast of the Wat Doi Suthep temple (about a 17 min drive). It's only about 5km north east of Bhuping Palace and is on the red songthaew route. A charming, but unashamedly touristy Hill Tribe village perched atop the scenic Dui Mountain.
