Shotgun is still optimal after the aug buff. Aug still has low firerate without ACOG in comparison to the DPS of the shotgun. Its also utility for making rotation for the team and keeps your secondary gadget spare to deny plant with C4 instead of having to compensate with impact grenades. The recoil is hard but its worth the investment.

Mar 22, 2016 · Given that the usual definition of SMG is "carbine-sized weapon that fires pistol caliber ammunition" I've been puzzled about the AUG throughout The Division -- I'd wager the majority of the AUGs in the world are the 5.56 NATO version and not one of the 9mm variants.

The AUG HBAR is the LMG variant in real life. AUG Para is the SMG variant, and just the “AUG (Armee Universal Gewehr)” is the Rifle variant. However, AFAIK, the AUG A1 has never been and will never be a burst fire weapon. The way it’s set up IRL is no select fire. Pull the trigger half way and it’s semi auto and all the way is full auto.

Aug 12, 2020 · The benefits come from the 60 rounds of 5.56 ammo which generally do more damage than any other SMG (other than hollow point). The Uzi ammo conversion is close in damage, but the AUG will have faster fire rate and almost twice the ammo. When you're hipfiring, you're going to miss some shots so the 60 rounds goes a long way.
