May 9, 2010 · The C5 S6 has the timing belt V8, which is very reliable - as opposed to the timing chain V8. The biggest engine related issue is probably the intake manifold actuation system. The actuator arms become brittle over time and break; luckily, there are a few aftermarket options which eliminate the potential failure, such as aluminum actuator arms.

Aug 10, 2017 · Google and the forum seem to be few and far inbetween for help. I am 99% sure I am picking up a C5 S6 this weekend. It is stock except for H&R anti-roll bars. I will want to wake up the exhaust of the V8. Any other mod suggestions would be great. I am not looking for big power. Just intake, exhaust and tune most likely.

Apr 3, 2012 · Base block is the same for the C5 4.2, S6, D2 A8 and S8. The RS6 is based on the same block, but it's internals are different to withstand boost. 300/300 was pretty good for the era, the S6/S8 produce 340/302 (just like your S4) as a result of the intake manifold and runners.

Jan 10, 2018 · If you possibly can, I highly recommend fitting a heated wheel into your C5 for those cold winter months- you will thank me later! Overall the interior gives a feeling of total comfort, quietness, and luxury- which is what the 4.2 is all about! The S6 has heated sport seating, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and and alcantara headliner.

Dec 1, 2022 · Rotor lug holes need to be enlarged slightly to fit the Audi bolt pattern. Hub opening is already perfect. Rotors are about 2mm wider (when new) than S4 rotors, but there is still room in the S4 calipers with brand new pads. Brake pads fit perfectly with no overhang, and the e-brake cables hook up just like doing the S4 upgrade on any C5 Allroad.
