Im not fully sure where this 6V Red/Purple wire is coming from or doing, but on some pinouts its labeled as switched positive from the radio/HU, but in my case there is no Red/Purple wire on the back of the HU.

May 18, 2008 · This is a brief how-to, from my install of a sub woofer in place of the stock one under the parcel shelf in an RS4, although it is equally good for the B6/B7 A4/S4. It worked but the stock sub sounded better....much better. i can probably take the feed from the stereo and put it into an amp. May 31, 2017 · I don't have a system installed on my S4, but i used the lc2i on my previous A4 and spliced off of the wires to the sub direct to the lc2i. It does a fine job of cleaning the signal. Don't overthink the job, get a $40 Rockford fosgate sub wiring kit off of Amazon, which will come with more than enough wire for the full sub, amp, and Lc2i install.
