The Antonov An-2 (USAF/DoD reporting name Type 22, [3] NATO reporting name Colt [4]) is a Soviet mass-produced single-engine biplane utility/agricultural aircraft designed and manufactured by the Antonov Design Bureau beginning in 1947. [1]

The rough and legendary An-2 is still in service in Cuba. The Cuban An-2’s are designated for agricultural services and mosquito fighting. In the small town of Santa Fe, 20 kilometers west of La Habana, Cuba, one will find the airframe and power plant workshop of ENSA (Empresa National de Servicios Aeronauticos).

Antonov (d/b/a Antonov Company, [a] formerly the Aeronautical Scientific-Technical Complex named after Antonov or Antonov ASTC, [b] and earlier the Antonov Design Bureau, for its chief designer, Oleg Antonov) is a Ukrainian aircraft manufacturing and services company.

On 14 March 2002 an Aerotaxi Antonov An-2 with two crew and 14 passengers crashed, with all on board killed. The aircraft was on its way from Cienfuegos Jaime González Airport (CFG) to Cayo Coco Airport (CCC).
