Andrew John Partridge (born 11 November 1953) is an English guitarist, singer-songwriter and record producer best known for co-founding the band XTC. He and Colin Moulding each acted as a songwriter and frontman for XTC, with Partridge writing and singing about two-thirds of the group's material.

XTC were an English rock band formed in Swindon in 1972. Fronted by songwriters Andy Partridge (vocals, guitars) and Colin Moulding (vocals, bass), the band gained popularity during the rise of punk and new wave in the 1970s, later playing in a variety of styles that ranged from angular guitar riffs to elaborately arranged pop.

Then, following what many consider their watershed LP, 1982s English Settlement (which yielded the Top 10 hit “Senses Working Overtime”), XTC as a live band suddenly screeched to an agonizing halt: Andy Partridge was mentally and emotionally exhausted, a condition the band would later describe as “something of a breakdown.”

The man is a true music legend and in addition to being lead singer/composer of one of my favorite classic power pop bands, XTC – he runs Ape House, a label for like minded artists.
