Anclote Lighthouse. The lighthouse is a historic portion of the state park, owned and managed by the state park system and staff. The lighthouse is open for climbing during scheduled open houses that are run by the Friends of Anclote Key and during private tours, also run by the Friends of Anclote Key.

Only eight people are allowed in the lighthouse at a time. There may be a line waiting to climb the lighthouse. Please be courteous to our volunteers who are there for your enjoyment of the lighthouse.

History of Anclote Lighthouse. The Anclote Key Light was built on Anclote Key as an aid to navigation in 1887. It is 110 feet tall and designed with a skeleton architecture to allow storm winds and tides to blow through. The structure itself is made of cast iron to withstand the salty air.
