Dec 26, 2022 · Only am5 boards will support ddr5, meaning you'll need a 7000 series cpu. I think AMD really screwed this up. They are still producing brand new, powerful, am4 socket CPUs in 2024. They just announced a new line of am4 processors, yet they will be stuck with ddr4 RAM. That said, ddr4@3600mhz, if you only plan on using it for gaming, you're golden.
