Last October Sir Peter Blake, Anthony Green RA and Nicholas Usherwood presented Alison Elliott with the Curwen Gallery Prize for Figurative Painting. Her prize was representation by Curwen Gallery and a solo exhibition with the gallery this July.

Alison Elliott is an artist who was professionally trained at Winchester School of Art and Newcastle Polytechnic. Taking her lead from the old masters, she paints in a classical style utilising tried and tested techniques in oils painting dogs and horses.

Oct 28, 2017 · We recently came across the stunning paintings of artist Alison Elliott when she ordered a sheepskin pet bed for her cats and we got chatting about her work - specialising in painting animals, particularly horses and dogs.

Last week the Curwen Gallery team took a trip to Cambridge to visit Figurative Painting Prize Winner Alison Elliot in advance of her solo exhibition this July. We were amazed by some of the work that we saw. Her new paintings were genuinely incredible and it was a rare (and reassuring!)
