May 31, 2012 · First, put Alice on her frame as usual. slip the top of the frame in the pocked made by the pad: and secure the bottom of the pack to the frame with the straps on the pack. Ignore the D-rings. These are for attaching shoulder straps directly to the pack without the frame. (also ignore the tan strap in the picture.

Mar 27, 2024 · The ALICE pack, sized down like this, would also make for an awesome day pack either worn up on the shoulder bags or slung low as a lumbar pack. As a whole, I'm happier with this rig than any of my other packs so far.

Mar 1, 2012 · I keep 2 Canteens in Canteen covers on either side of my Medium Alice pack and 1 to 2 quarts of water in the main bag in 1 or sometimes 2 sports drink bottles. I like to have 3 to 4 quarts of water on day hikes 1 to 2 for drinking, some for making food and some water for washing up before and after meals.

To solve this , i came up with the following solution. The german army uses a foldable insulation which is folded pretty much the size of the back section of an medium alice pack.
