The white wines of Alex Moreau continue with long pressings, vinification in predominantly François Frères barrels, spontaneous fermentation with natural yeast, and an élevage that lasts a year, followed by six months on the lees in tank before bottling under natural cork.

Alex Moreau, who has been running the legendary Domaine Bernard Moreau, belongs to the new generation of talented winemakers in the Côte d’Or. He has undergone formal studies and gained experience working in other wine regions around the world. In 2021, Alex began bottling wines under his own label.

Delivering aromas of peonies, rose petals, red berries, and spices, the 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes presents as a medium-bodied wine. It boasts a satiny texture and is infused with aromatic qualities, accentuated by vibrant acidity and a saline-tinged finish.

From the 2021 vintage all the wines are now labeled Alex Moreau, having previously been under the header of Bernard. It heralds a new chapter in the history of the estate. For the moment, Alex farms 5 hectares; 3 years ago he had 15, but he also lost a few contracted hectares when the contract came to an end.
