YoRHa No.9 Type S, or just 9S, is one of the protagonists of NieR:Automata. He is the main character of Branches B and D, as well as one of the main antagonists and final boss of Branch C. 9S is a scanner-type android who served during the 14th Machine War.

First appearing in the 2017 video game Nier: Automata, 9S (short for YoRHa No.9 Type S) is a male "scanner" reconnaissance android who displays more emotion than other YoRHa units.

Aug 9, 2021 · After farewell it's pretty much up for your interpretation but yes 2b&9s have romantic feelings for each other. I think it's pretty obvious. They propably wont fight anymore and enjoy having some peace together. Since 2b wont have to worry about killing 9s again she will propably stop acting so cold and open up to 9s more.

Oct 3, 2022 · mmander isn't even a YoRHa-type. However, it is heavily implied that 9S and 2B are based on No. 9 and No. 2 respectively. No. 9 may or may not have done something to make sure they get reproduced. thanks a million my dear friend!! you are amazing!

May 3, 2017 · He did find out that humanity no longer existed, but nothing about the safety measure (the E units) that was set in place to make sure that truth never reached the light of day. Still, A2 outright states that he knew all along when she's confronted with 9S. Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese, but thanks for the tip anyway.
