A purebred factory race car developed solely for the Porsche Supercup series, the 993 Carrera Cup 3.8 was lighter than its 964-based predecessor and featured a lower and stiffer suspension, larger brakes, three-piece Speedline wheels, a reinforced 6-speed gearbox, and a specialized 3.8-liter engine with a new resonance intake system.
