For those who are thinking about a 991.1, here is an insider review
Dec 1, 2017 · I drove my 991.1 C2S today for the first time after picking up my 2016 F80 a couple of weeks ago and the 991 did not disappoint. Despite having gotten used to the power of the F80, I did not think the 991 was lacking in power in any way and I still prefer the power delivery of the 3.8L NA engine.

What are the pros and cons of owning a 997.2 and a 991.1?
991.1 pros: most capable, most comfortable, most "road presence", cons: rear end styling not as nice as the other two, 7 speed is not as nice as the 6 speed in the 997. With that perspective, would you say that the 997.2 would make a better track car? That's my hypothesis but I haven't really been able to test both 991.1 and 997.2 side by side.
