SLO might be a good choice too, the guy from Silverchair used Soldano and had a great tone for that era. Didn't Kurt use a Sansamp into a clean power amp?

May 23, 2017 · There are a lot of well made integrated amps in the early 90s from all over the place. From Japan we had the Rotel, Pioneer and Marantz and from the UK, there were the Arcam, NAD and Mission Cyrus. What to look out for when buying these probably rusting heaps of wires and screws?

You can get 90% there by turning the mids all the way up on a mid scooped fender amp. He ran that into crest/crown solid state power amps and Marshall cabs with celestion g12-75’s. The AC30/bassman were used for some overdubs.

Aug 16, 2021 · Lots of 90s amps are fantastic sounding. There hasn't been as much progress as you may think. I think 90s gear really is some of the best value for money right now. I would add to the list: Nelson Pass design, has the fortitude to drive difficult loads, such as the Infinity Kappa 9.
