7mm Rem Mag vs. 270 win - Shooters Forum
Oct 17, 2008 · When loaded as hot as the .270, a 150 gr .30 caliber bullet is a better killer than the 140 gr 7mm Magnum. It leaves a better blood trail, and gives you similar power to the 7 Mag in a lighter rifle. With a recoil pad, it kicks no differently than the .270.
270 versus 7MM-08 - The Firing Line Forums
Jul 2, 2015 · Both calibers will work fine. Personally I would choose the .270 over the 7mm-08 any day for any game or hunting. With the .270 you get more energy, higher velocity, more powder capacity, better trajectory and ballistics all around. And Woodleigh offers a 180 grain bullet in their infamous Weldcore bullet line for the .270.

Oct 9, 2008 · I have both the 270 and 7mm Rem Mag. But as 8iowa says, the older I get, the less I appreciate the recoil of magnums. I tend to use my 270 much more than I used to. The 270 will do all I need 99.9% of the time. I have several magnums that I reload for and the older I get, the lighter my reloads get.
Felt recoil comparison. .270 vs 7mag - Shooters Forum
Apr 7, 2007 · Out of curiousity, looked up the ballistics of the .270 and 7mm mag. With 140, 150, and 160gr. bullets, the 7mm mag is between 200 and 300 fps faster, at the muzzle. Now this is top-end loads for both, out of the same reloading manual, so I think it's a pretty valid comparison.
.30-06 vs .270 vs 7mm Mag - The Firing Line Forums
Mar 26, 2013 · .30-06 vs .270 vs 7mm Mag Although I enjoy a good discussion around velocity, energy, bullet weights, recoil, drop, etc. the simple answer is that there is no practical difference between the three. In a nit-picky argument, there are some minor differences to order the 3 in all possible combinations.

.270 WSM or 7MM WSM? | Shooters Forum
Aug 24, 2008 · Look at Remington's website go to the ammo page and compare 270 wsm with 150 grain accutip bullet with 7mm Rem Mag Ammo. It has extremely high b.c. The ballistics on the 150 grain accutip in 270 wsm are better than most 160 grain 7mm bullets. This is all advertised ballistics, I have no first hand experience.

.243 vs .270 | Shooters Forum
Nov 13, 2017 · Of those two the 270 is a much better cartridge for deer hunting. Both recoil much less than a 13 gauge but the 270 does recoil more than the 243. There are a number of cartridges that I consider to be excellent for deer hunting and low recoil. The 243 is not one of them and the 270 is on the high end of the recoil of those I consider excellent.
