Alice Cooper, Roxy Music ,Slade,The Sweet, Sparks,Mott the Hoople, even early Queen.....theres no doubt that the early 70s produced some highly talented artists that are still highly regarded today.....but what of the others? The lipstick,flares and platform boots era.....why was this golden age of music often ridiculed ?

Oct 31, 2012 · I'll take RUSH, BOC, ELO over Kiss anyday of the week. I agree with Cosmic Elton John's early 70's albums are excellent, after Blue Moves I did think he lost a lot.

Oct 24, 2012 · Pink Floyd. There was a lot of fantastic progressive music in the 70's that I feel was overlooked due to the excessive popularity of Pink Floyd. You can add Led Zep to that list. I think they lived up to the hype with albums 1-Houses of the Holy, but the rest I can do without.

Jul 17, 2010 · Two more U.S Glam rock artists from the 70s SHADY LADY....from L.A, lots of talent here and well ahead of their time with their proto punk glam around the time of early New York Dolls. Sadly things didn't quite happen for the band.

Dec 23, 2014 · For me, the seventies belonged to Kansas, Yes, Styx, Springsteen, Rush, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac and Boston. ABBA? Each to their own, but I am surprised to read a post on a rock forum citing them as one of the greatest acts of the decade. To me, they have more in common with bubblegum pop stuff...
