I am just curious as to why the 707-120 did not get orders from foreign air carriers.the 707-320 series really got a lot of orders.

Nov 15, 2007 · My bad, I just now noticed "DC-8-40 and 707-120/320" in your question. The turbofan 707's are -120B and -320B, and the turbofan DC-8's are -60's and -70's, by the way. The takeoff speeds for the turbojet DC-8's and 707's are really not any different from that of the turbofan models, about 150-160 knots at max takeoff weight, and less than 140 ...

Jul 12, 2015 · The only original customers for the 707-120 were Pan Am, American, TWA, Continental, Cubana and the U.S. Air Force. The 2 Cubana aircraft couldn't be delivered due to the trade embargo which had just gone into effrect and were leased to Western Airlines for 2 years before being sold to Pan Am.
