6v6 vs 6k6 how do they compaire? - Antique Radio Forums
Dec 2, 2008 · The 6K6 takes .4 ampere on the filament, whereas the 6V6 takes .45 ampere. The 6V6 is capable of more power output and greater plate dissipation, 14 watts versus 8.5 watts for the 6K6. For a car radio that uses a single tube in single ended output, you could most likely get along with either tube, provided it is a six volt set with the ...

May 17, 2015 · Thanks for all the replys. The "plan" is to build something with a mid-gain preamp that will clean up nicely with the guitar vol. The power section will have 4 6K6's pp, fixed bias using a 6K OT that I already have. Probably have to build a quad bias supply as of now I can't find a matched quad of 6K6's.
6K6 tube? - EL34 World
Mar 23, 2024 · 6K6 is a type 41 on an Octal base. '41 was the first "good" power pentode. 6V6 is "clearly" an improved 6K6. EL1 and EL2 also seem to be reading the '41 spec sheet. Tubes is tubes. Within ratings, and intelligently designed, there won't be a heap of difference. Designed by rumor and guess/gosh, you may hit on a case that "adds tone".
6N6 Replacement Tube - 6K6? - Antique Radio Forums
Nov 18, 2002 · It is designed to run without any bias, so a 6V6 or 6K6 would probably work if you lifted the cathode from ground and used the correct cathode resistor and a 20 mfd bypass capacitor. Use a 270 ohm 1 watt for the 6V6, and a 470 ohm 1 watt for the 6K6. The 6N6 should still be available from AES, Radio Daze, etc.
Tim
-----
Jun 21, 2010 · The Specs I find on the 6K6 have 315V max on the plates, and 285 on the screens. 8.5W plate & 2.8W screen dissipation. In a SE setup, 100V on plate and screens, -7v bias, and a 12K plate impedance load, it will put out 0.35W. In a SE setup, 315v plate, 250 screen, -21 bias, and a 9K plate impedance load, it will put out 4.5W

Mar 17, 2022 · Re: Old Timey 6K6 build « Reply #16 on: March 17, 2022, 07:25:22 am » yes james is correct as baxandall has to be in a negative feedback loop, but of course just like leo's swapping of 'tremolo' and 'vibrato' some mistakes become part of our lexicon (strats have a vibrato, many fender amps have tremolo)

6K6 SE - max grid resistance question - EL34 World
Aug 8, 2024 · i think i understand impedance bridging in theory - making the output impedance of the driver stage small in comparison with the impedance of the following stage results in maximum signal transfer. and i'm sure if i used a 30K plate resistor, the 150K grid leak of the 6K6's would hardly change the total AC load, so i can see the advantage in ...
