  1. 6.5 RPM | Long Range Hunting Forum – Expert Gear Reviews

Oct 18, 2024 · If making a custom 6.5 RPM, work on the bullet selection first then create your throat and freebore before picking a reamer if necessary. Or thr standard SAAMI reamer can be used with a throating reamer. Ask your gunsmith. I'm using the Hornady 135 gr. A-Tips for deer and elk but I'm trying out the 153 gr. A-Tip on elk also.

  2. 6.5 RPM load data - Long Range Hunting Forum

Dec 29, 2020 · Been working on a load for the new rifle. Factory ammo left a lot to be desired in the 127 LRX loads (2980-3040's with three different lot numbers vs factory 3225 spec). Worked up a load for the 135 A-tip which worked well on a couple of coyotes and a wolf last month. Finally acquired some...

  3. Weatherby 6.5 RPM? - Long Range Hunting Forum

Sep 24, 2019 · The 6.5 RPM provides 125fps more than a .264WM can with 140g AccuBond bullets. This according to Weatherby and Nosler ammo data. Weatherby claims 3225fps with a 127g Barnes bullet, which beats my 6.5-06AI with 130g Swift Scirocco II bullet by a whopping 64fps. It also beats Hodgdon's fastest .264WM/129g load by 54fps. (Yawn)

  4. .264 Win mag or 270 Weatherby mag. or 6.5 rpm - Long Range …

Nov 9, 2011 · Howdy, anytime someone puts 264 Wm. as a choice, that's my recommendation. From your write up you reload, another plus for 264. Now barrel twist, I can only guess that Weatherby put a 8 twist in there RPM. The other two need 8 twist barrel installed. Easy button is RPM and buy 4 or 5 boxes of shells for brass. Merry Christmas.

  5. What do you think of the 6.5 WBY RPM - Long Range Hunting …

Oct 18, 2019 · Rebated Precision Magnum , heck of a name isn't it ? Cool part about it (or maybe downside), is it uses the .473" bolt face, and can be built on about any long action. Also utilizes the 3.34" COAL. IMO I think the 6.5/.264" class is too "busy" right now. I …

  6. Load for 6.5 RPM | Long Range Hunting Forum – Expert Gear …

Apr 16, 2022 · There is a reason you can't find load data for H4831 in the 6.5 RPM. It's the same reason you can't find load data for FFF black powder in the 6.5 RPM. It is ill suited to the task. Both Retumbo and H1000 are starting to show up on shelves. They are suitable choices for the 6.5 RPM. The best I've found is Alliant Reloader 25.

  7. What do you think of the 6.5 WBY RPM - Long Range Hunting …

Apr 13, 2020 · So think of a 6.5 Wby. RPM as a "magnum 6.5 PRC" (which is often called a "magnum 6.5 Creedmoor") The 6.5 RPM is not as ridiculously big as the .26 Nosler or the 6.5/300 Wby. Weatherby developed it to utilize thier Mark V action/bolt face. That's why the 6.5 RPM has a rebated cartridge base to fit that "non-magnum bolt face. And with their ...

  8. 6.5 Weatherby RPM or 6.5 X300 Weatherby mag for Long Range …

Mar 6, 2017 · My Weatherby knowledge is very limited so can't help much there. If I had to choose between the two cartridges you mentioned, I'd go with a 6.5 RPM, but given any 6.5 choice, a 6.5x284 or 6.5 PRC would go ahead of them and dare I …
