Tweed Champ - Which new 8" Speaker? | The Gear Page
Mar 16, 2023 · My 5F1 has the 8" 4 ohm speaker. Maybe you have an earlier 5E1 if you have the 6". Did you go with the ceramic, or alnico? Mojotone sent me an email today regarding their Anthem AN8C 8" speaker, and the demo sounded really good to me in the BFVC, and tweed 5F2A Princeton, but this is the 8 ohm version.
5F1/5F2A with 10" Speaker - Who makes them today? - The Gear …
Sep 28, 2018 · John Mergili built me a raw tweed cab for my 5F1 build. Dimensions were increased by 1" in all directions to keep the same proportions and cut-out for a 10" speaker. Currently running a Weber 10A125-sounds awesome.
Who owns both a Tweed Princeton and a Tweed Champ ... - The …
May 19, 2017 · The 5f2 seems to have a little more bass and is a little more strident, the 5f1 a little more mids. The 5f2 seems to have a touch more sparkle, and headroom and overall is a bit more harsh. My particular 5f2 plays and sounds like it has more gain than the 5f1 (the '57 5f1 is even one of the more vicious vintage 5f1's that Ive owned)

What Attenuator for a Fender Tweed 57 Custom Champ?
May 28, 2020 · The power station, tone king ironman, and aracom prx150 whatever are fantastic and exceptionally transparent for knocking mega amps down to bedroom level, but I just tend prefer my swart night light with my 5 watt str tweed as I haven't needed more than the first two attenuation levels where it sounds transparent enough for recording.
Zenith Tube Radio Conversion to 5f1 Champ - The Gear Page
Mar 13, 2012 · I converted this old radio to a 5f1 champ. Sounds great! And I retained use of the big dial in the middle of the speaker for the volume control. The internal speaker sounds surprisingly decent, but I also have a speaker out jack to plug into my 2x12. Fun stuff.
Took the Plunge-Cox Amp 5F1 (Review coming) - The Gear Page
Apr 29, 2010 · I need a low watt amp and I ve been interested in the 5F1 circuit made famous in the 50s w/ the Fender Champ. I will not pay Fender s outrageous asking price for the reissue, however. Looked at kits, but I really don t have the time or skills to build. Then a fellow TGPer (a.k.a. Catmouth)...
Marshall JTM-style preamp + 5F1 power section (5w 6V6)? - The …
May 6, 2019 · Does anyone make an amp with an early-60s JTM preamp and a single-ended 6V6 ~5w power section, like a 5F1? I've been having a LOT of fun with my Victoria 518 and was hoping to find something similar but with a Marshall voice. This is an amp that I'd be playing only at home, by myself. No need...
