Jul 10, 2020 · NOTE: If in UEFI/BIOS Settings the Integrated Graphics R5 is configured and set at 512 Mbytes, doesn't matter how much RAM Memory you add to your computer that is the Maximum vRAM Memory your R5 will use unless you enter BIOS and change the vRAM Memory setting from 512 Mbytes to 2 Gbytes of vRAM or more, if applicable.

Aug 7, 2022 · unfortunately, this is not correct. there is a problem with the nomenclature. when the pagefile system was created, eons ago, to suppliment systems with very low amounts of physical memory they dubbed it "virtual memory" which quickly became known as VRAM, and most old school pc power users know it to mean such.

Mar 16, 2019 · I have a laptop with a 4GB R7 M440 that I use for casual gaming but when I look in task manager it shows that it is only using 512MB and even when that 512MB is maxed out it does not use the rest of the available VRAM. Why is it doing this and how can I fix it? I have a picture of task manager with a game running in the background.

Oct 27, 2021 · vRAM is RAM exclusively used by the APU but even though you only have 512MB, the APU via Windows will share the System Memory to be able to run any program that requires more then 512MB of vRAM as needed. The APU will probably run Graphics more efficiently with more dedicated vRAM but in your case you are locked at 512MB.

Dec 9, 2022 · Even though the physical amount of vRAM is 512MB, Windows will allocate automatically whatever System Memory is needed to run any program or video. Once the program or video ends, Windows will free up that System Memory for other uses. Having more vRAM will probably make the IGPU run more efficiently.

The Default (Automatic) base setting is 512MB., as this allows the *Maximum* possible System Memory for Windows; while still retaining enough Memory for 4K HDR at 60Hz.
