What kind of signal / jamming is this? (10 Meters) | QRZ Forums
Apr 13, 2014 · Over the last two days I'm hearing a strange noise on 10 meters, about 100Khz wide and centered around 28.500 Mhz where I read S9+10dB. There are definitely 2 stations involved, alternately transmitting this weird digital signal. It …
Amateur Radio Loses 50 MHz of Spectrum, Forever.
Jan 20, 2022 · The FCC announced the conclusion of the 3.45-3.55 GHz band frequency auction. This band will be used for "flexible use" and 5G. They have taken the 3.45-3.50GHz range away from amateur radio, forever. The amount of money the FCC is selling this 100 MHz of spectrum for is staggering. It looks like the auction totals to over 22.4 BILLION dollars.
Coax Loss vs Connector Loss - QRZ Forums
Mar 15, 2018 · Interestingly, "UHF" connectors (Amphenol 83-1SP) have slightly less insertion loss at 450 MHz than type N (UG-21D/U) connectors do. I've measured both many times. But going above 500 MHz, Type N, as well as C, BNC-TNC-SMA etc. are a …
Let’s start a thread about the ARRL 10 meter contest!
Nov 30, 2023 · I plan on operating the entire contest in the 28.800-29.300 MHz range using AM & FM starting Saturday morning. I obviously don't expect to have a very high score. New AMERITRON 500 Watt Mobile with Remote Head - QRZ Forums
May 3, 2005 · Always remember that mobile amplifiers draw SERIOUS amp's from your car battery. Up to 80 amp's on CW if you use a 400 - 500 watt amplifier. These are not "plug & play" devices. Lots of work will go into a good mobile install. I …
A calling frequency for ten metres? | QRZ Forums
Sep 9, 2002 · Also, 28.500 MHz IS a bit too high. If you are looking for activity, don't lock out the Novice and Tech Plus Operators here in the States. They have voice privileges from 28.3 to 28.5 MHz. I don't normally operate above 28.500 unless I'm looking for a satellite signal. My antenna was cut for the lower end of 10 M.
