Apr 28, 2016 · I use 24 hour stuff and have never, ever, had a clubhead come off. Most shops use the 5 min stuff, but the 5 min golf epoxy is different from the hardware store 5 min stuff. Any golf epoxy will be fine, 5 min or otherwise, but do not use hardware store epoxy like gorilla glue.

Jul 23, 2014 · 3M DP 420 is a fast cure epoxy product with similar strength to that of the 810. All kinds of negative assertions against "5 min epoxy", such as it not being as strong as slow cure, or it being brittle, doesn't apply to the 420. The 420 holds up to heat better than 810, which is why I think it's better for general purpose golf club assembly.

Jul 1, 2011 · Devcon 2-part epoxy (2 ton 30 min type) found in hardware stores. I also have Golfsmith's two part epoxy, but I actually prefer the Devcon b/c it's clear and doesn't smell. The Golfsmith version is black and has an unpleasant odor.

May 3, 2012 · Loctite sells some 5 min. epoxy that has 3500 psi tensile strength (available at Home Depot or Lowe's). I wouldn't hit the club in 5 min. of course, but this stuff is strong and fast. One question though is it seems to break down quickly when the heat is put to it.

Feb 26, 2014 · It's not advised to disturb the epoxy by twisting like that after it's been curing for two hours. You should glue up the club and set it aside and don't touch it. Good luck. Hope my concern is unfounded. BTW, you can speed cure epoxy by putting a little heat on the hosel. 1 hour at 150F and the epoxy will be near fully cured. [/quote]

[/quote] Go to Ace hardware or your local hardware store and get some Devcon epoxy. 5 minute working time and cured in 1 hour. High shear strengh and still retains low heat breakdown properties (200*F). I really like the stuff.

Mar 28, 2018 · Typically 5 min epoxies like that have the opposite issue of that which I mentioned; they break down very easy with heat. I know the Loctite 5 min epoxy that's commonly sold in hardware stores like Lowe's has that issue (it's only rated to 120F). BTW, there is NO DATASHEET for that JB Weld epoxy so you don't even know what you are getting.
