Mar 20, 2023 · SR5: base trim. It's kinda fine, esp with 4wd. Don't overlook this if your needs are basic, you might save some $$$. TRD Sport: bigger wheels with low profile tires and a "sport" suspension. Widely regarded here and elsewhere online as a pointless trim on a 4Runner.

Aug 13, 2021 · You lose most of the electronics and mechanical operations the TRD pro has the SR5 doesn’t even offer as an option. In this case I’d say get a trd pro. If you said TRD off road vs a Pro. I’d opt for the off road because you still retain the crawl control, manually range selected 4x4 etc. SR5 these aren’t even an option.

Sep 4, 2020 · 4Runner Limited 4wd is better in the snow (road). You wouldn't risk a part time 4wd engaged into 4hi or 4lo and hitting pavement, your system will bind and you will have problems. 4Runner Limited 4wd is literally the same mechanically to a part time 4wd in 4hi 4lo (TRD Pro) when you have the center diff locked H4L L4L.

Truck died. Drove wifes Prius for a month or two. I just knew I wanted to try out a 4runner based of a few outdoors videos I saw. Tested out a local SR5 without knowing it was "base model" and just had a few things wrong with it and they would even try to budge on price Soon after just scouting the web found a Pro about 2hrs away in NH.

Feb 17, 2024 · I would not get a 4Runner if it was primarily going to be used on the highway. The Highlander is MUCH better suited as a long distance highway cruiser. I don’t understand why you would buy a 4Runner if you’re keeping the Highlander and have a RAV4. I’d be looking at buying something fun and sporty instead of a 4Runner.

Jun 7, 2023 · The 4Runner already has enough clearance for most places you'll go, I don't recommend keeping the stock tires on as they just aren't very good in my opinion. I went with an SR5 mainly to save some money overall but also because I didn't need all the extras that come with the other trims for what I was going to do.

Go on auto trader, search nationwide or within 500 miles of the 4Runner you want and get a OTD price from a bunch of dealerships. You can search on auto trader filtering by lowest price. Once you have quotes from multiple dealerships, use those to discuss prices with dealerships near you. I purchased the 4Runner at invoice plus their $550 doc fee.

Jun 23, 2018 · F/r side airbags were standard on limited models 03-07. But 08 made them standard on all trims. Sr5/sport was optional before that. My 07 sr5 has them. (original owner had to add them as an option though) 09 introduced the Trail and Urban runner. Trail is only available with the V6. Basically a sport, but adds a rear locker. And better suspension.

I'm curious to hear about other's experience regarding 4Runner longevity. I've heard they can go 200,000 miles with regular maintenance, or 300,000 miles with exceptional but not ridiculous maintenance. I just purchased a 2018 SR5 Premium with 102,XXX miles on it and want to get an idea of the "hard" limit of the truck.

Dec 21, 2022 · SR5's are still very capable and for what it sounds like you will be using for will be perfectly fine. What is the price difference? There is a huge aftermarket for the 4Runner so with the money saved you can get the wheels/tires you want and maybe some other goodies (suspension, window tint, sliders, roof rack, skids etc.)
