The Rifle 7.62mm 2A/2A1[3] (also known as the Ishapore 2A/2A1[3]) is a 7.62×51mm NATO calibre bolt-action rifle adopted as a reserve arm by the Indian Armed Forces in 1963. The rifle is a variant of the Lee–Enfield rifle.

May 15, 2015 · I have this Ishapore Enfield chambered in .308. I've read that they were converted to "Jungle Carbine" by the Australians by shortening the barrel and adding a flash hider. Shoots all .308s with accuracy.

Jan 5, 2023 · I’m curious to know if anyone has had an enfield(or a Ross for that matter) rebarreled to a 308 diameter but kept the 303 action/chamber. My logic is for hand loading, 308 bullets are much cheaper and more plentiful here in Canada.
