Switching a relay with 2N7000 and Arduino - Page 1 - EEVblog
Jun 25, 2016 · It is possible that the 2n7000 is just one of those that doesn't turn on well at 5 volts to the gate, and is operating in the linear region enough to turn the LED on (with no dropping resistor!) but can't pass enough current, even with the 9v supply, to actuate the relay.
Switching relay with 2N7000 and Raspberry Pi GPIO
Dec 15, 2023 · The second relay has a lower operating voltage, but a higher operating current, so it still chatters. The solution is to change to a bipolar NPN transistor as a saturated switch. Use a base resistor of less than 470 ohms.
Introduction to 2n7000 - The Engineering Projects
Feb 24, 2018 · 2n7000 is mostly used for low power switching applications. It is used as a driver for motors, relays and lamps. It is widely used in battery operated systems and solid state relays.
Feb 28, 2020 · The 2N7000 is an Enhancement-mode (normally-off) transistor that uses a vertical DMOS structure and a well-proven silicon gate manufacturing process. This combination produces a device with the power handling capabilities of bipolar transistors as well as the high input impedance and positive temperature coefficient inherent in MOS devices.

The 2N7000 is a N-Channel Enhancement Mode Field Effect Transistor, a.k.a. MOSFET for voltage controlled small signal switching. On a data sheet this MOSFET is shown to be capable of switching 200ma with a 60V rating.
Using a Transistor to Connect Ground to a Relay
Sep 21, 2010 · If you prefer to use discrete transistors, use 2N7000 MOSFETs. Connect each gate to an Arduino output, each source to ground, and each drain to a relay coil. If the relays don't have diodes across the coils, you will need to add a 1N4148 from each drain to +12V.

Using 2n7000 as switch with 3.3V MCU | All About Circuits
Sep 6, 2014 · If the Vcc for relay is 5V then you still got the chance to drive the mosfet using 3.3V. The idea as below, you can try it : 3.3V → (-)Diode(+)(-)Diode(+) → Vgs (2N7000) Vgs adding a 2.2K ~4.7K to +5V. The diodes are using 2 1N4148 in series. If it doesn't work then please describe the status.
