Oct 4, 2020 · TMP36 is specifically a temperature sensor, not an NPN transistor like the 2N2222. You might have them confused because they both can come in TO-92 package. It is possible to look at the various properties of 2N2222 transistor and correlate it to temperature (see the other answers on this page), but that seems not practical for your application.

Dec 10, 2021 · Doesn't have to be worst case. But if you look at the datasheet for the 2n2222 it should have multiple stats for gain based on current and voltage, and probably a graph/chart too. The actual gain and the saturation will vary. It's a bit of a black magic science. \$\endgroup\$ –

Dec 15, 2010 · A 2N2222 is quite a powerful transistor, but is only good up to 800mA or so. So any motor you use must not consume more than this current when spinning and when stalled, or the transistor may burn. Also, the 2N2222 is rated for 40V maximum, so you can't drive high voltage motors.

For 2.5W into 4 ohm speakers at fairly low distortion I would use a PAM8403 stereo class-D audio amplifier IC powered from 5V and it costs $.80US at Digikey today.
