.270 Win vs 30-06 Sprinfield (Debate) - Hunt Talk
Jan 30, 2019 · Since that debate has been hashed out you should have gone 30-06 vs 280 Remington. Some fresh blood in the ring!! Pretty much the same answers as given above though. How about this debate out of these cartridges based on the 30-06 to include the 30-06 which one is the best in the pack? Without an altered case such as the 280AI as an example.
.270 Win or 30-06 Sprg for Elk - Hunt Talk
Jul 18, 2016 · The 300 shoots the same projectile as the 30-06, just a few hundred fps slower. At long extreme ranges, it would make a difference, but at normal hunting distances 30-06, is a great round. Bring the .270 as a back-up if you have the room.
270 vs 270wsm vs 30-06 - Hunt Talk
Jul 12, 2016 · I would also throw in 7mm rem mag. Recoil like the 06, trajectory flatter than a .270. Personally, I'm a .270 fan but the 06 has more options on larger game. I'd do the 7rem mag before the short mag. Id rank the cartridges like others 06, .270, then the short mag. Otherwise I'd recommend you consider the rem mag as the hybrid of all od them.
270 WSM or 30-06 - Hunt Talk
Dec 27, 2016 · Looking for your opinions here. I recently picked up a Browning Xbolt in 270WSM and was planning on shooting Nosler AccuBond ammunition. My concern is that the 140g bullets would be to light for elk. Should I setup this gun for whitetails in the midwest and keep the tried and true 30-06...

Jan 11, 2009 · The solution is to get a .30-06 and shoot 180 or 165 grain bullets for big critters, get a .270 with 130 grain bullets for deer and then add in another 06 child, the .25-06 with 100 grain bullets for speedgoats and you're good to go.
Best .30-06 parent case cartridge - Hunt Talk
Jan 14, 2019 · My favorite is the original, the 30-06 itself. A couple of seasons ago I used mine, all with the 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, to take: elk, black bear, mule deer & pronghorn. Only the muley required a second shot, he was down but not done. Also took it to Alaska with 200 gr Nosler Partitions. Used that good old 30-06 to take grizzly and wolf.

Apr 20, 2020 · Its common for people to use a 130 grain bullet in the .270 win and 150 grain bullet in the 30-06 on deer size animals. Anything less is usually considered for varmints. For sake of discussion, I know sectional density is important, but wouldn't the 30-06 with a 130 grain bullet work as well or even better than the .270 for deer size animals?

30-06 vs 300 WM in the real world? | Page 4 - Hunt Talk
Feb 12, 2020 · So, I get around 2850 with my .30-06 with a 168 gr bullet and I also get around 2950 with a 200 gr bullet out of my 300 Win. So, if you are shooting the same bullet out of each; I am in question how it is only a 200 fps velocity gap. From Wiki 30.06 vs 300 165 gr - 2800 fps vs 3300 fps 180 gr - 2700 fps vs 3150 fps 200 gr - 2550 fps vs 3000 fps
Tikka Hunter T3x in .270 recoils more than others comprable rifles??
May 15, 2019 · I was surprised to find that recoil from a Stevens 200 (Savage 10) 270 win/150 gr @ 7# was subjectively equal to a 9# 7mm rem mag/160 gr bullets. 270 win has the same case volume as 30-06, so it is a potent round. Any reputation 270 had as light recoiling came when compared to 30 cal rifles of similar weights launching heavier bullets.
