The Numbers Gang is a South African crime organization that originated as an African nationalist organisation. It is believed that they are present in most South African prisons. The gang was founded in KwaZulu-Natal. [1][2] The gang is divided into groups — the 26s, 27s and 28s. It is one of the oldest crime organizations in the world.

The Two Sixs especially battled the Saints. Two Sixs also recruited many new gangs into the Folk alliance starting in the year 1981 after Folk and People spread to the streets. Some of the gangs they converted were: Latin Souls, La Raza, Party people and Sin City Boys.

The 26's keep the prisons alive and are responsible for acquiring supplies of money, drugs, cigarettes and other luxuries and known for beating the system The wealth they bring into the prison system must be shared with the 28's, if the 28's are low on resources

On October 16 1981, the 18-year-old Two Six’s gang leader David Ayala killed two Latin King gang members. In January 1983, he was sentenced to Life in prison. He is still behind bars and currently resides at the Tamms correctional facility.

Captain One - He is the captain of blood and has permission to stab others. He will have six stars on his shoulders, usually three on each shoulder and these are seen in the form of tattoos. The Fighting General - Gives permission to the Number ones to arms themselves with weapons.
