How bright is 150 lumens? I’m considering buying a Hybridlight PUC expandable lantern for use when camping, but just want to make sure it will be bright enough for what I need. Basically, it’s a solar-powered lantern that compresses down to about the size of a hockey puck which is perfect for stuffing into a backpack.

May 27, 2023 · Depends on your use case! For most THINGS, I probably use around 150 lumens or less, but I do have a KR4 mule I use for work. I use it for inspecting camera lenses, and ramp the brightness as needed to see through a particular lens. Since it's a mule, it's extremely low candela. I've found myself hitting the top of the ramp on occasion!

The utility of those lumens are determined by the beam spread and the distance between the flashlight and the objects being viewed. A flashlight with a focusing lens allows for effective usage of those lumens.

Nov 6, 2022 · The nexigo PJ20, and honestly compared to the heyup Boxe it’s totally worth the money. Only fault I found was that the Boxe could project a larger screen without being as far away but I’m still able to get a decent screen size being 7 or so feet away.

The reason my X80-GT gets so much use is because it’s smaller than a soda can and can run at 200 lumens for over 30 hours. It’s the perfect dog walking light during winter. 700 lumens is enough to make the average person go, “Oh my gawd!”

Sep 12, 2023 · When Surefire came out with their LOLA and MN21 lamp, it was 500 lumens of pure power for the latter, albeit for about 20 minutes while burning through 6x CR123a. 500 lumens back then is like on-your-knees type of power. Today, you'd laugh at 500 lumens. A Pokelit 2AA produces 600 lumens. Just a little perspective.

Fortunately, (as stated by SirMaster) many projectors that spec out at 1000-2000 lumens actually top out around 300-700 lumens when set for 6500K grayscale, which is what you want for film/video. 16 foot-Lamberts is considered a good target brightness.
