Aug 27, 2011 · just got threw installing these baffles, had to totally remove the pipes from motor, no way to remove heat shields enough to get to the retaining bolt for the baffles. replaced header pipe gaskets with oem. verdict? love the sound, gives it a deeper tone without the blat blat blat. installed the heat wrap has recommended. thanks for all the input brothers.

Jun 26, 2010 · Air leaks and lean mixtures make the pipes run hotter, heat causes the blueing. Blocking the air to the reed valves (or installing block-off plates), eliminating exhaust air leaks (they can leak at the joints as well as the heads) and richer mixtures (PCIII or other "fuel module") will minimize blueing. They all help reduce your exhaust temps.

May 9, 2009 · I purchased big radius 2 into 2 exhaust pipes from v&h and read on their page that the baffles on these pipes are removeable. I also purchased a performance tuner at the time the pipes were put on, but the dealer said they will not be able to fully tune the bike until they can red line it. So I have to wait for my 1000 mile service.
