Apr 16, 2006 · Yak-3 kit is from my own casting production and i want to build all three schemes offered witthin the box , for Aeropoxy site photo galery. In fact, four were offered, but two are from the same unit, Normandie Nieman, No 14 and No22, i chose no 14. Another two chosen are Yugoslav AF Yak 3 from 1946 and third is Yellow 74 from unknown VVS unit.

Dec 12, 2019 · Most of the info I've found on Russian WW2 paint colours is very variable in their definition of the shade, especially the interior colours, and it varied from factory to factory. What I have painted matches closely a Yak 3 I photographed in New Zealand. I started with light sea grey and added a little light blue to it.

Dec 17, 2023 · actually Yahu provides three types of indicators, of which only one is dedicated to the Yak-3, while the kit instructions provide two, without specifying which is good for which version of the yak. Apr 25, 2017 · The Yak-3 hasn't a very busy cockpit, but the kit's representation is a bit too simple for my taste. Like the knobs on the side console. The turning wheels are solid parts due to casting limitation. So I cut them off with a razor saw and glued the console tops to the relevant consoles. Next was the IP. I purchased the Edwards PE set for the Yak.

Dec 17, 2023 · Brilliant work on the Yak-3! Despite your problems with it, this is a kit I'd like to get (unless of course, ICM get to it first!). Just as an historical note, Soviet fighters very seldom had the flaps down on the ground. The control surfaces weren't always at neutral, but it does appear that normally the flaps were up.
