Mar 4, 2024 · I've got my first tomahawk on order, a Cold Steel Trailhawk. I already plan to strip the paint, and give it a good patina, as well as customizing the handle to my liking. Still not sold on a tomahawk becoming a mainstay in my kit, as I carry small hatchets, a Collins boys axe, or a 8" Kukri for chopping tasks, and a tomahawk seems a bit ...

  8. Preferred way to carry an axe/tomahawk? - Bushcraft USA Forums

May 19, 2022 · I made a belt loop for my tomahawk but it still needed a mask. I used grommets instead of rivers for the mask so I could use some braided leather as a sling. Funny enough I never considered the sling but I made the leather braid to satisfy the bushclass requirement. I loved the look of it which spawned the idea for the hawk sling.

  9. Tomahawks: why? - Bushcraft USA Forums

Jan 7, 2019 · A tomahawk is good for surviving in the wilderness, building a quick shelter, fighting Indians.... It is probably not so good for felling trees, splitting a rick of firewood, or carving spoons, garden gnomes, or cigar store Indians.
