I found that the quickest way to bring it back up is to hold both the volume buttons + power button (so all 3 together) for few secs to bring it to the "dead Android on its back" screen, then to bring it to "power off" with the up/down selection, and choose that power off (by the power button).

Jul 4, 2021 · The second camera on my G6 is just for depth sensing haha, but it is also a full rgb camera (on the G5 the depth sensing camera is greyscale). I do wonder what sort of night time performance it has as it appears to have a much smaller aperture than the standard shooter. My main issue with the Moto Camera app is that it seems to have a memory leak.

Somewhat similar to you, my G7 Plus stopped getting security updates as well (I think the last was Feb of this year) so it was an excuse to jump back into custom ROMs. Lineage 18.1 (Android 11-based) worked great but I settled on Evolution-X (also A11-based) for the juicy customizations.

Aug 21, 2020 · This is a Moto G6 on Android 9 with the latest security patch from 4/1/2020.The problem just started happening in the past two weeks. I've had the phone for over a year. I tried a factory reset and had the same problem happen the first time after charging.

Oct 13, 2020 · Still rocking a moto G6 in 2022. The only complaint I have is a slow ass camera that takes an eternity to launch but takes decent pics and videos. I'll probably do a factory reset on it soon to fix the laggy-ness and clear all the Android cache noise that accumulates on the phone.

Oct 21, 2021 · Yes and no. Moto G6 does not have alternate mode HDMI output cababilities over USB-C and does not support MHL You can use a Chromecast on your TV's HDMI port and send video via WiFi. But not Miracast. But there are USB OTG connected display adapters that can mirror the display. Displaylink adapters have Android drivers.

I have an old g6 that I installed pixel experience on, it's running android 12 now. Everything works properly, although I haven't tried banking apps. I think there is an android 10 or 11 version as well.

Jun 30, 2022 · I've recently been wondering if it'd be possible to upgrade my moto G6+ that has served me well for such a long time to android 10. I have already unlocked the bootloader. However, when I use "adb reboot bootloader" or try to enter the bootloader with the volume_down + power button I get a blank screen.

Nov 17, 2020 · I already replaced the phone with something more reliable, but if I can keep the G6 limping along as a media/casting device, that'll prolong it's usefulness. The charging problem seems to happen to a lot of people (and seemingly other Moto phones) but I doubt Lenovo will do much to remedy it.
