As more and more brands drop sedans (saloons) in favor of CUVs, and sales are up for the 3, I would hope Mazda would continue to ride that wave rather than give up and go to an all-CUV ...

I skimmed your write up as I'm not in the market for a new 3 anytime soon. I feel like you've summed up mazda in general really well. Great car, good handling, good reliability. Let down by features and tech. We currently own three and used to own another. My favorite vehicles of theirs so far are the older ones with no features.

Oct 20, 2011 · I got the same problem with my 2004 Mazda 3S, 2.3L, (113K miles). Was the issue resolved by replacing the pressure control solenoid? Symptoms: "AT" warning light on. "CEL" off. No codes listed when scanned. Rough shifting from Parking to Reverse. Slightly rough shifting in 1GR-4GR when cold.
