May 4, 2024 · If I recall correctly, if you get the Leica remote trigger, you can use other (i.e. not rebadged as Leica) Nissin flashes that work with remote triggers, which might open some options for you. . I've also owned the SF58 and SF64 over the years Both Metz and, IMO, a better build quality than the rebadged Nissin SF40/SF60s.

Mar 21, 2024 · For best quality, go for the Leica SL APO lenses. I tested 35mm, 50mm and 90mm against the otions from Sigma/Panasonic. The APO SL lenses are stellar in every regard, but pricey. I kept the 90mm because I do lots of portraits. The Panasonic 50/1.4 did match the Leica APO and had the benefit of F/1.4.

May 7, 2024 · Leica designed the SL series and L mount as a successor to their analog R series and also as a digital solution for R lens owners. It works great for that. Of course Leica being Leica they designed to the SL series also for use with their M range, which makes it the best mirrorless body to do that apart from a real M camera.

Apr 4, 2024 · When I bought my SL, I thought it would be nothing for me because it just adds size and weight to a camera that is already bulky compared to my M9. I use my Leica SL mostly with my R lenses, and it is great for that use. I found that if I use it with the multi function grip it actually feels much better in my hands than without.

Nov 29, 2023 · Just speculating, but since the 24-70 Leica branded lens was very similar to the Sigma to the point where many believe it is a rebranded Sigma (although there apparently are some differences), if you can wait I imagine a Leica 70-200 2.8 will be available in the near future.
