Philadelphia’s Mural Arts Program (commonly abbreviated to “MAP”) has played a role in marking the city’s LGBT history, particularly with its murals “Pride and Progress” (2003), “A Tribute to Gloria Casarez” (2015) (in homage to the city’s first director of LGBT affairs), and gay artist Keith Haring’s “We, the Youth” (1987).
