Sep 21, 2012 · The third iPhone 5 still has the hissing/static sound, but not as loud as the second although still there. The recording volume is better also. I'm still not satisfied with this. I think there should be no background static/hissing like in the older iPhones I have made recordings on. This hissing/static sound is unacceptable.

Sep 23, 2024 · Yeah it’s hissing when ANC is on and it’s quiet, the audio playing should be also as loud or louder than the static otherwise u can hear both. I hear it more with right ear but maybe the canal has better fit or i just hear worse on left ear.
