Tensioning Guy Wires - eHam.net
Just make sure you get one over-rated for the guy wire you are tensioning (400 pounds for 3/16" EHS and 700 pounds for 1/4" EHS). I believe the one I use has webbing about 1" wide. I forget the cost of these but seem to recall you can buy 3 for about the price of one come-along.
Tensioning Guy Wires - eHam.net
To tighten the guys, I use a preform about 6' up each guy wire and a come along attached to the preform (lever end of come-along). The cable end of the come-along hooks at a convenient place on the anchor or equalizer plate. Make sure the tower is vertical to the first set of guys via 4' level (what I use) or plumb bob (never tried this).
Choosing Guy Wire - eHam.net
EHS guy wire has a different twist than wire rope, and requires preforms made for that specific type of wire. Using Rohn's guy assemblies (not torque arms) allows a secure attachment for the guys (as opposed, for example, having them looped around the legs where you have the forces being held by the diagonal welds). Imagine a force big enough ...
DIY Push-Up Antenna Mast - eHam.net
When tilted over, the yagi hung over the gable end of the garage and was easily accessed in the driveway. I would easily manually tilt the mast up, grab the backstay guy wire, walk it out to the other end of the garage, and attach it. I used 1/16" diameter 19-strand stainless steel wire rope.

From the GROUND up - eHam.net
Or many HAMs use the guy wires (with judicious insulator placement) for make shift inverted "V" antennas. So grounding of the guy wires defeats the ancillary intent/antenna use. f. Any conductor that could carry lightning should not make any bends smaller than an eight inch radius - the larger the radius the better.

All the parts were there and fit correctly (with a little tweaking). The antenna is mounted on a 16ft 2" galvanized pipe attached to a the factory tilt base assembly. The tilt base is mounted to a 4ft section of galvanized pipe set in a 3.5 x 2ft concrete base. Because we have a strong sea breeze everyday I used the 3 point guy wire kit.
HF Antenna Installation Hints - eHam.net
C. Site Location. These antennas need to be as far as possible from any surrounding metal objects. Our tests, and those of customers, show that any antenna wire should be at least 15-20 feet from gutters and metal house siding or fascia. Metal guy wires should be "broken-up" with insulators at non-resonant lengths.
